UFC 126 Betting Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The UFC always puts on a show the day before the Super Bowl and this year is no different as it has a stacked card for UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort on Saturday night. The main event of Saturday’s card, which will air live on Pay-Per-View from the Mandalay Bay Events Center at 10PM ET, features a battle for the UFC Middleweight Championship with champion Anderson Silva defending his title against Vitor Belfort. According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, the champion Silva is the favorite to retain with betting odds of -250, while Belfort has odds of +190. This will be a matchup of two of the fastest strikers in all of MMA as both have legendary hand speed and neither will be looking to take the fight to the ground. Silva (27-4) has not lost since 2006 and won 13-straight fights in the UFC. Belfort (19-8) hasn’t fought in over a year but has won his last three fights by knockout. The co-main event features former UFC champions as Forrest Griffin takes on Rich Franklin in a light-heavyweight contest. Both fighters come into the bout in somewhat of a middle ground and need this win to stay relevant within the company. Oddsmakers have Franklin as the favorite with betting odds of -170, while Griffin comes in at +140. Griffin (17-6) is coming off a win in November of 2009, but hasn’t fought since due to injuries while Franklin (28-5) is also coming off a win this past June, but coming off a broken arm. This should also be a pretty heavy stand-up war with some clinch mixed in. Franklin used to be the middleweight champion and is smaller for a light heavyweight, while Griffin is one of the biggest light heavyweight in the division.
