Friday’s NLDS Game 1 Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The 2014 NLDS begin play today with a pair of Game 1s. Here is a breakdown of the two games on the schedule.
The first game of the day has the Washington Nationals hosting the San Francisco Giants at 3PM ET (View Matchup). The Nationals will have Stephen Strasburg on the mound to face Jake Peavy of the Giants. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the National are favored at home, as they have odds of -180 to win Game 1, while the Giants have been given a money line of +170 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 6.5 runs. The Giants are 89-74 overall and 44-38 on the road while the Nationals are 96-66 overall and 51-30 at home. These two met seven times this season, with the Nationals winning five of the seven meetings. The two also hit the over in their last five meetings. Strasburg started in two of the Washington wins while Peavy has yet to face the Nationals as a member of the Giants.
The other game today has the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the St. Louis Cardinals at 6:30PM ET (View Matchup). The Cardinals have Adam Wainwright on the mound to face Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers. Oddsmakers have the Dodgers favored at home in Game 1, as they are getting odds of -195 to win, while the Cardinals are getting odds of +182 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at just 5.5 runs. St. Louis is 90-72 on the season and 39-42 on the road while the Dodgers are 94-68 overall and 45-36 at home. These two met seven times during the season, with the Dodgers winning four meetings and the two hitting the under in five of seven meetings. Kershaw pitched in two of the Los Angeles wins while Wainwright pitched in one St. Louis loss.
