ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild have all week to prepare for the Western Conference semifinals and their rematch with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Last year, after beating the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of that first-round series, the Wild had to hustle off to Chicago to play two days later. This time, they’ll have four full days off.
The NHL announced the second-round schedule Tuesday, slotting Game 1 against the Blackhawks for Friday night in Chicago.
The Wild returned to the ice for practice, two days after eliminating the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 of the conference quarterfinals. Parise said afterward he has appreciated the break after a ”pretty physical series.”
Parise led the Wild with three goals and four assists in the first round.
