Tuch nets natural hat trick vs. Blackhawks
Alex Tuch scored a hat trick in Friday’s 6-2 win over the Blackhawks. Tuch opened his account midway through the first period with a tip-in to give the Sabres a two-goal lead, and he added two more tallies in the third period to close the game out. Tuch is up to 12 goals this season, though this was his first multi-goal effort of 2024-25. It was also Tuch’s third hat trick of his NHL career, notching all of them with the Sabres, but it was the first time he accomplished this feat on home ice.
Kyrou finishes with pair of points in win
Jordan Kyrou scored a goal on three shots, dished a power-play assist and added two PIM in Friday’s 7-4 win over the Predators. Kyrou scored in the first period and added a helper on Robert Thomas’ tally in the third. While this was just his second multi-point effort in December, Kyrou has been steady with eight goals and three helpers over 12 outings this month. The 26-year-old winger is up to 15 goals, 31 points, 103 shots on net and a plus-6 rating over 37 appearances. He’s on pace to cross the 60-point mark for the fourth straight year, though he may not do much better than last season’s 31-goal, 67-point performance.
Sabres vs. Blues Betting Prediction
Take St. Louis. The Sabres have struggled over their last 10 games. While they have won back-to-back games, those are the only two wins Buffalo has over its last 10 contests. A $100.00 bettor would be down -$600.00 if they would have wagered on the Sabres in all 10 of those games.
On the other side, the Blues halted their three-game losing streak with back-to-back wins over the Red Wings and Predators, respectively. I’d be remised if I didn’t mention that the Blues forced overtime against the Panthers, whom they held to only two goals in their 2-1 loss in Sunrise, FL. They’ve also won two out of the last three meetings between these two teams.
Sabres vs. Blues Prediction: St. Louis Blues -125
