The team announced Tuesday that the current Sommet (soh-MAY’) Center will become Bridgestone Arena, pending approval of the naming rights contract by the Nashville Sports Authority.
The building in Nashville’s downtown tourism district has been the Predators’ home since 1998. Before it was the Sommet Center, it was the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
Bridgestone Americas, the North American subsidiary of Tokyo-based Bridgestone Corp., has its headquarters in Nashville.
Terms of the naming deal were not immediately released. The company also said it was extending its marketing partnership with the team for five years.
