Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the Canucks –156 money line favorites over the Sharks, who are +144 on the ML. The over/under total for this game is currently 5.5 goals and the puck will drop tonight at 9:00PM ET.
The Canucks bested the Sharks 3-2 on Sunday in Game 1 of this series. Vancouver got goals out of Kevin Bieksa, Henrik Sedin and Maxim Lapierre, while goaltender Roberto Luongo saved 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
The Canucks peppered Sharks’ goalie Antti Niemi with 38 shots and he managed to save 35 of them, but obviously his effort fell short as San Jose scored only twice. Patrick Marleau had a goal, while Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist.
NHL Playoff Free Pick: It won’t be cheap but take Vancouver to win again tonight. According to latest NHL trends, the favorite is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams and the Sharks are just 1-4 in their last five games against the Canucks. San Jose, which may be fatigued coming off that seven-game series against Detroit, is also 0-7 in its last seven conference finals games and 1-4 in its last five contests versus the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Canucks are 14-3 in their last 17 games against the Pacific and 4-1 in their last five playoff games as a favorite. Lay the wood.
