Hischier nets team-leading 18th goal
Nico Hischier netted his team-leading 18th goal of the season in Friday’s 4-2 win over Carolina. Hischier converted a two-on-one rush chance after being set up by Stefan Noesen late in the opening frame. Hischier is riding a three-game point streak consisting of two goals and three assists, and he’s registered at least one point in five of his past six games. This stretch follows up a five-game dry spell for Hischier in which he was held off the scoresheet in the first five games of December. New Jersey’s captain is third on the team in scoring with 34 points (16 helpers) through 38 games, and he’s well on his way to surpassing his career-high 31 markers that he delivered during the 2022-23 campaign.
Roslovic notches assist on three shots
Jack Roslovic notched an assist, three shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Friday’s 4-2 loss to the Devils. Roslovic was back on the top line at even strength Friday for the third straight game. He’s earned a goal, two assists and seven shots on net in that span. It’s a spot that has served Roslovic well when he’s had the chance to play higher in the lineup. The 27-year-old winger is up to 14 goals, seven helpers, 71 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 35 contests. He’s still a little goal-heavy this season, but Roslovic makes for a strong streaming option at a minimum when he’s sharing ice time with Sebastian Aho.

Devils vs. Hurricanes Betting Prediction
Take New Jersey. I backed the Hurricanes last night in New Jersey believing that they would come out of the short holiday break refreshed. Instead, they looked like the same team that has struggled over the course of their road trip. With that 4-2 loss in New Jersey, Carolina has dropped three out of its lat four games.
Meanwhile, the Devils remain red-hot. With their win over the ‘Canes last night, the Devils are now 6-1 over their last seven games. Their lone loss was a 4-2 defeat at Columbus. Otherwise, the Devils have been perfect. They’ve held six out of their last seven opponents to two or fewer goals. In fact, six out of their last eight opponents were held to one or fewer goals.
Devils vs. Hurricanes Prediction: New Jersey Devils +115
