Bruins end two-game slide

Boston won for the first time in three games with a 3-2 overtime victory at the Sabres Saturday night. Sean Kuraly scored the game-winner in the extra session on assists from Matt Grzelcyk and Kevan Miller. After Buffalo grabbed a 1-0 lead early, the Bruins (21-14-4) evened it up at 1-1 later in the first period on an unassisted goal by Noel Acciari. The Sabres scored the lone goal of the second period, but Boston tied it back up with a Jake DeBrusk power play goal as 2:29 remained on the clock in the third period. Torey Krug and David Pastrnak assisted on the goal. Tuukka Rask made 26 saves on 28 shots in the winning effort.

Blackhawks edge Avs

Chicago has played its best hockey of the season lately and won its fifth game out of its last six with a 3-2 overtime triumph Saturday night at Colorado. Patrick Kane scored his second goal of the contest in OT on the power play to win it off assists from Jonathan Toews and Erik Gustafsson. Alex DeBrincat gave the Blackhawks (15-20-6) a 1-0 advantage 1:46 in on the power play with Kane and Dylan Strome assisting. Later in the first period, Kane made it 2-0 on a goal assisted by Artem Anisimov and Strome. Colorado scored late in the first and again in the second to tie it at 2-2. Kane now has 22 goals on the season after the overtime winner. Collin Delia saved 30 out of 32 shots on goal to post the win.

NHL Betting Trends

Boston

The Bruins are 4-0 in their last four versus the Western Conference. Boston is 18-5 in its last 23 Tuesday games.

Chicago

The Blackhawks are 24-49 in their last 73 games overall. Chicago is 1-5 in its last six versus the Atlantic Division.

Prediction:

Chicago has played well as of late and should have a home advantage with it being hosted at Notre Dame. Boston is getting healthier, but has still been up-and-down this season. With the firepower the Blackhawks have up front, I’m taking my chances on them continuing their solid streak with a win here. Enjoy the game, best of luck with your bet and Happy New Year’s to all!
