According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bruins are 3/1 favorites to win the Eastern Conference in 2015. The Pittsburgh Penguins have the next-best odds at 5/1 while the current defending Eastern Conference champions, the New York Rangers, are 15/2. The Tampa Bay Lightning are also 15/2, while the Montreal Canadiens are 17/2 and the Detroit Red Wings are 14/1.

Continuing with the odds, the Philadelphia Flyers are 14/1 to win the Eastern Conference while the Columbus Blue Jackets are 16/1 and both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals are both 20/1, respectively. The New Jersey Devils, meanwhile, are 28/1 to win the Eastern Conference while the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders and Ottawa Sentors are 33/1.

The Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers share bleak paths to the Eastern Conference title this season, as they’re both 40/1 to win, respectively. Those represent the longest odds in the conference.

Over the past five years there has been a different team to win the Eastern Conference than the one a season before. The Rangers won in 2014 while the Bruins won in 2013 and the Devils won in 2012. The Bruins also won in 2011 while the Flyers won in 2010. The Penguins were the last team to win back-to-back Eastern Conference titles when they won in 2008 and 2009.
