Updated Western Conference Odds
(TheSpread) β Despite being the favorite to win the Stanley Cup, oddsmakers donβt see the Detroit Red Wings as the favorite to win the NHLβs Western Conference.
According to oddsmakers, the Wings have 7/2 odds to win the West, but the Vancouver Canucks are the favorite with 11/4 odds to win. Other short odds to win are San Jose and Chicago, as each has 9/2 odds.
Vancouver is the defending conference champion and they currently lead the Northwest Division with 64 points. The Canucks are 30-15-4 on the year with a 14-6-3 record at home. The Canucks have scored 158 goals while allowing 122.
The Red Wings come into the All-Star break with the top record in the league. They lead the Central Division with 67 points with a 33-16-1 record. The Wings are an impressive 20-2-1 at home on the year and they have 160 goals scored with just 117 allowed.
San Jose is leading the Pacific Division with a 27-14-6 record and 60 points. The Sharks have been steady at home and on the road, tallying a 15-8-2 record at home and 12-6-4 mark on the road. The Sharks have scored 131 goals on the year but are allowing just 110.
Chicago is tied for third in the Central Division and currently sixth in the Western Conference standings with 64 points and a 29-15-6 record. The Blackhawks are 19-6-4 at home and have scored 162 goals while allowing 144, which ties for second most allowed in the West.
