2011 Stanley Cup Final Odds
(TheSpread) β The 2011 Stanley Cup Final is set as the Vancouver Canucks will face off with the Boston Bruins.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com the Canucks are the favorites to win the series with odds of 1/2 while the Bruins have odds of 11/5.
The Canucks have never won the Stanley Cup, but they have three conference championships to their credit. Vancouver is the No. 1 seed in the West and top overall seed. It will have the home-ice advantage in the series. Vancouver beat No. 8 Chicago in seven games to start the playoffs and then beat No. 5 Nashville in six games before topping No. 2 San Jose in five games in the conference finals.
The Bruins are a 5-time Stanley Cup champion. Bostonβs last title came in 1972. The Bruins were the No. 3 seed in the East and their road to the Final started by beating No. 6 Montreal in seven games. The Bruins then made quick work of No. 2 Philadelphia, beating the Flyers in a sweep. In the conference finals, the Bruins topped No. 5 Tampa Bay in seven games.
These two teams only played one time during the regular season with Boston winning 3-1. The Bruins had just 24 shots in the victory and lost 56 percent of the faceoffs, yet still found a way to win.
