According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog the Canucks are clearly the favorites to win the series as each scenario they have to win has odds of +650 or less. The most likely scenario to oddsmakers is Vancouver in 5 games, which has odds of +300 while the longest odds are Boston in a sweep, which has a money line of +2000.

The Canucks have yet to pull off a sweep in the playoffs, but their odds to sweep Boston is +650. Vancouver has actually had an easier time getting through the playoffs with each round, starting with 7 games in the first round, 6 in the second, and 5 in the third.

Boston has had two series go 7 games, which would have odds of +550 in the Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins also had a sweep during the second round.

Unlike the NBA, the Stanley Cup Final sticks with the 2-2-1-1-1 series for mat, where the better seed (Vancouver) will host games 1, 2, 5, and 7. Boston will host games 3, 4, and 6.

In Stanley Cup history, there hasn’t been a sweep since 1998 when Detroit swept Washington. Since 1990, the Stanley Cup Final has been pretty spread out in terms of number of games. Six times the series has gone 7 games while it has gone 6 games and 4 games five times each, while it has only gone 5 games just four times.
