Thursday NHL Free Pick
(The Spread) – The Eastern Conference Finals will shift to Tampa Bay tonight when the Lightning host the Boston Bruins in Game 3.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the Lightning –128 money line favorites over the Bruins, who are +118 on the ML. The over/under total for tonight’s game (which will start at 8:00PM ET) is currently sitting at 5.5 goals.
The Bruins evened up this best-of-seven series at one game apiece with a 6-5 victory on Tuesday night. Tim Thomas allowed five goals but the Lightning peppered him with 41 shots. By all accounts, he faired better than Dwayne Roloson, who allowed six goals on just 27 shot attempts.
Tampa Bay got goals from Vincent Lecavalier, Adam Hall, Dominic Moore, Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis. Tyler Seguin and Michael Ryder each found the net twice for Boston, while Nathan Horton and David Krejci scored one goal apiece.
NHL Playoff Free Pick: Take the over, which is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams according to latest NHL trends. The over is also 4-0 in the Lightning’s last four games overall and 5-1 in their last six Thursday night games. The over is 4-0 in the Bruins’ last four games as well, and 4-0 in their last four games versus the Eastern conference. Roloson may have lost some confidence after his shaky outing in Game 2, one in which he was eventually replaced by backup Mike Smith.
EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS GAME 3 FREE PICK: OVER 5.5
