Bruins take Game 7
(TheSpread) β The Eastern Conference Finals went down to the bitter end, but it was the Boston Bruins that prevailed and claimed the conference championship in Game 7.
The Bruins topped Tampa Bay 1-0 in Game 7 to win the 2011 NHL Eastern Conference. Nathan Horton was the hero in Game 7, scoring the lone goal on a beautiful centering pass from David Kerjci. The conference title for Boston is the third in franchise history and first since 1990.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com the Bruins had 7/2 odds to win the Eastern Conference entering the 2011 playoffs, meaning a $100 wager on Boston will pay out an additional $350.
Boston was the No. 3 seed in the East and the Bruins opened the playoffs by beating Montreal in seven games. The Bruins won three overtime games in that series, including Game 7.
In the second round of the playoffs, Boston got past Philadelphia in a sweep. The win was extra sweet for Boston as it had lost to the Flyers last year in seven games after holding a 3-0 lead in the series.
