The conference finals are set in the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Western Conference is clearly favored to win the cup over the Eastern Conference.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have given San Jose and Chicago 7/4 odds to win the Stanley Cup while the two Eastern Conference contenders, Montreal and Philadelphia have been given 4/1 odds.
In the West, things have gone mostly according to plan with the top-seeded Sharks set to take on the second-seeded Blackhawks. San Jose opened the playoffs with a 4-2 series win over Colorado which then set up a 4-1 series win over defending conference champion, Detroit, in the second round. Chicago has reached the semifinals by defeating Nashville 4-2 in the opening round and then topping Vancouver 4-2 in the second round.
In the East, it has been all about upsets as the two lowest seeds meet in the finals with the seventh-seeded Flyers actually getting home ice over the eighth-seeded Canadiens. Philadelphia reached the conference finals by getting past New Jersey 4-1 in the opening round and then overcoming a 3-0 deficit to Boston to win the series 4-3, which included a Game 7 win that had the Flyers down 3-0 as well only to comeback and win 4-3. Montreal has been the real shocker this playoffs as the Canadiens disposed of Alex Ovechkin and Washington in the first round 4-3 before taking out defending Stanley Cup champion, Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh 4-3.
