Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Notes
Ben Roethlisberger completed 27-of-46 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns in the Steelers’ Week 10 game against the Bengals. With the Steelers winning 36-7, Roethlisberger got a rest for the final 10 minutes. Today was Big Ben’s first four-touchdown effort of the season. He found each of his big three of Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool and JuJu Smith-Schuster for scores, including Claypool twice near the goal line. Roethlisberger’s deep ball still left a little bit to be desired, but it was crisper than it has been at times this year. He found Johnson for a beautiful 46-yard strike down the left sideline. Despite his seemingly diminished arm strength, Roethlisberger has been as decisive as ever this season. He’s also wily, freeing Claypool for TD No. 1 with a pump fake to Eric Ebron. Week 11 opponent Jacksonville boasts one of the league’s worst pass defenses before tougher matchups with Baltimore and Washington.
Jacksonville Jaguars DFS Notes
Jake Luton completed 18-of-35 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one pick in Jacksonville’s 24-20 Week 10 loss to the Packers. Even without both Jaire Alexander and Kevin King available for Green Bay’s secondary, Luton was unable to move the ball on Sunday, opening the game with two missed third-and-short opportunities that he fired far too high and wide. He marched Jacksonville down the field to tie the game 17-17 in the third quarter with a 17-yard strike to Keelan Cole but has ultimately averaged 5.5 yards per attempt since his 73-yard touchdown to D.J. Chark to cap the opening drive in his Week 9 debut against Houston. Luton’s interception in this one wasn’t his fault, however, as Tyler Eifert accidentally slipped mid-route. The Steelers will still rank as next week’s top D/ST opposite Luton and Jacksonville’s offense.
Steelers vs. Jaguars Prediction
The underdog is 12-3-1 against the spread in the last 16 meetings in this series and the Steelers are just 1-3-1 against the number in their last five games versus the Jaguars. Pittsburgh is also just 12-27-2 at the betting window in its last 41 road games when facing a team with a losing home record and is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in its previous game. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record and have cashed in five of their last seven games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
