Will Jalen Hurts go higher than his rushing total? Will Kyren Williams find the end zone? Can Matthew Stafford avoid throwing an interception against Philadelphia’s outstanding defense? Read on for our Rams vs. Eagles Underdog Fantasy Picks.
NFL Divisional Round Underdog Fantasy Recap
My Texans-Chiefs Underdog Fantasy picks went bust when C.J. Stroud of the Texans finished lower than 34.5 passing attempts. While Travis Kelce went higher than 5.5 receptions, Xavier Worthy went lower than 4.5 receptions. Thus, it wasn’t a great start to my Underdog selections in the Divisional round.
In the Commanders-Lions game, I had Jared Goff higher than 274.5 passing yards and he finished with 313. Jahmyr Gibbs also scored a touchdown, but Jayden Daniels only had 51 rushing yards. Thus, he went lower than the 55.5 rush yards we needed to cash on this game.
Rams vs. Eagles Underdog Fantasy Picks: Matthew Stafford 0.5 Interceptions (Higher)
The Eagles forced four turnovers last Sunday against the Packers during Wildcard Weekend. It was the third time over their past four games that they generated at least four turnovers. Stafford avoided throwing an interception on Monday night versus the Vikings, but the Rams also controlled that game from the outset. He only attempted 27 passes as the Rams dominated the Vikings in the first half. He didn’t need to put the ball in the air much in the second half.
Including the playoff win against Minnesota, Stafford has only thrown one interception over his last eight games. That said, there was a stretch during the regular season in which Stafford threw one interception in six consecutive games. While one of those games didn’t include the November 24 matchup with the Eagles, no team in the NFL is playing better defense right now than Philadelphia. The Eagles intercepted Jordan Love three times last week and have at least one interception in each of their last four games.
Rams vs. Eagles Underdog Fantasy Picks: Kyren Williams 0.5 Rush + Rec. TDs (Higher)
Williams is the Rams’ backfield. He has now handled 90 of 106 backfield touches for L.A. over the past four games, with a low rate of 82.8%. The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish also has 17 touchdowns on the year to go with a heavy workload. He turned 19 touches into 92 yards and a touchdown on Monday night versus the Vikings. If the Rams are near the goal line today in Philadelphia, chances are that he’ll have an opportunity to find pay dirt.
Rams vs. Eagles Underdog Fantasy Picks: Jalen Hurts 39.5 Rushing Yards (Higher)
The Eagles’ passing game has been off for months. Kellen Moore doesn’t look like he trusts Hurts to push the ball down field, especially coming off his concussion that kept the quarterback out of several games late in the season. With a wintery mix expected for the Philadelphia area today (coupled with a Lions’ loss last night to the Commanders, setting up a possible home NFC title game for the Eagles next week), I see Moore and Co. being conservative again today.
That said, Hurts did rush for 36 yards last week against the Packers in the Wildcard round. He’s also gone over his rushing prop total in three straight games and has averaged 46.88 rushing yards over his last 10 contests. When plays break down, I think Hurts will be looking to roll with his legs.
