Packers vs. Lions Week 17 Prediction
The Packers will look to secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC but need to beat divisional rival Detroit on Sunday in order to accomplish the feat. While the Pack should win outright, are the Lions the better bet when it comes to covering the spread?

Green Bay Packers Fantasy Spin
Davante Adams caught 13-of-16 targets for 116 yards in the Packers’ 23-10, Week 16 win over the Vikings. Adams obviously led the team in targets, as he does every week. His only miscue was a first-half lost fumble, one of three Packers turnovers before the break. Adams was taking Xavier Rhodes’ lunch money all evening. He has three 100-yard games and four touchdowns across seven games since returning from his injury and is back to his normal self just in time for a potential playoff run. Adams will get the Lions in Week 17.
Detroit Lions Fantasy Spin
Kerryon Johnson logged 10 carries for 42 yards on the ground while securing his lone target for a one-yard gain Sunday in Detroit’s Week 16 loss to the Broncos. Johnson didn’t start but nonetheless out-touched Bo Scarbrough in his return from an eight-game absence. His long run went for eight yards. We’re not entirely sure why the Lions insisted on bringing Johnson back in the midst of a lost season, though at least he looked healthy. Kerryon didn’t break off any big ones, averaging a workmanlike 4.2 yards per carry with a long run of eight yards. Not yet ready for a full workload coming off a two-month absence, Johnson should continue to work in tandem with Scarbrough when the Lions return home to close out their season against the Packers in Week 17.
Green Bay
The Packers are winless against the spread in their last five games versus the Lions, but the favorite has covered in 19 of the previous 26 meetings between these two teams.
Detroit
The Lions are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games and are 1-7 against the number in their last eight games as an underdog.
NFL Week 17 Prediction
The Lions have lost eight straight and injuries have left the team devastated on both sides of the ball. That said, as previously mentioned, Detroit has also shockingly covered five straight against Green Bay and the Packers aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders offensively. If it weren’t for their nasty pass rush on Monday night in Minnesota, the mistake-prone Packers likely would have lost by double-digits. I’ll take the points with the home squad in a matchup that is decidedly in Green Bay’s favor but all the pressure is also on the Packers, who still need a win to secure a first-round bye.
NFL WEEK 17 PREDICTION: DETROIT LIONS +12.5
