Packers vs. Vikings Prediction
Will the Vikings cover as a small home underdog when they host the Packers at 8:30PM ET tonight on Sunday Night Football?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Vikings are 2-point home underdogs versus the Packers while the over/under currently sits at 43 points, down from 44.5. While the total moved off the original number, the side hasn’t budged since Green Bay opened as a 2-point road favorite.
Green Bay injury to know about: Sam Shields, CB
Shields is in the league’s concussion protocol and has been ruled out for this Week 2 matchup against the Vikings. Green Bay surrendered 320 passing yards to Blake Bortles in Week 1 and will no be without its top cornerback. Quinten Rollins will start opposite Damarious Randall, with Ladarius Gunter now the favorite for snaps out of the nickel corner position.
Minnesota injury to know about: Matt Kalil…
…and Sharrif Floyd, and Xavier Rhodes. Kalil is questionable with a hip injury after he returned to a limited practice on Friday. Rhodes is dealing with a knee injury and has already been ruled out, while Floyd has also been ruled out due to a knee injury. Both injuries could be a significant blow to Minnesota’s pass defense.

OUR PREDICTION: Sam Bradford is set to start for the Vikings after the team acquired him two weeks ago from the Eagles. How much Bradford knows of Norv Turner’s playbook isn’t known but he almost certainly will be running a paired-down playbook. With the Vikings also limited on defense because of injuries, things aren’t setting up well for Minnesota to win its home opener. The Packers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games played in September.
