Broncos vs. Chiefs Prediction
AFC West rivals clash on Christmas night when the Chiefs host the Broncos at 8:30PM ET. Which team will cover?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chiefs are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Broncos while the over/under currently sits at 37 points. Kansas City opened as a 3.5-point favorite but the line was -3 as early as Sunday morning before jumping back up to 3.5. As for the total, the number hit the board at 38 and has been bet down to 37.
DENVER KEY TRENDS: The Broncos have been a good bet coming off a loss, covering in 15 of their last 21 games following defeat, and are also 12-5-1 against the number in their last 18 games following an ATS loss. That said, Denver is just 1-4 at the betting window in its last five games versus opponents with a winning record, is 1-4 ATS in its last five conference games, and has failed to cover in five of its last six divisional games.
KANSAS CITY KEY TRENDS: The Chiefs are just 2-8 at the betting window in their last 10 home games and are winless at 0-7 against the spread in their last seven games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous contest. Still, they’re 5-0 against the spread in their last five games following an ATS loss and have covered in five of their last seven home games versus a team with a winning road record.
OUR PREDICTION: The underdog is a perfect 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while the road squad is a perfect 6-0 at the betting window in the last six meetings. The Broncos have also fared well in Kansas City, covering in six of their last seven road games against the Chiefs. Trevor Siemian and the Broncos offense have really struggled but their defense remains lights out. This game should come down to a field goal either way, so I’ll bet the hook and take the dog.
NFL WEEK 16 PREDICTION: DENVER BRONCOS +3.5
