Cardinals vs. Rams Updated Odds
Sam Bradford will make his NFL debut this Sunday when the St. Louis Rams host the Arizona Cardinals at 4:15PM ET. Let’s preview the game and check out the recent line movement.
Game Preview:
The Cardinals are in major transition now that Kurt Warner has retired and Derek Anderson takes over under center. Anderson has all the physical tools to succeed in this league, but he’s been a disaster the past two years and nobody quite knows what to make out of Arizona’s offense with him leading the way. Beanie Wells is hurt, so that means Tim Hightower will see the bulk of the carries. That said, don’t assume this team is going to stay on the ground. With Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston lining up at receiver, the Cards have plenty of weapons to be dangerous in the passing game. It’s just up to Anderson to find them.
The Rams are moving in the right direction, but they’re awfully young on the offensive side of the ball. Bradford will make his NFL debut this week and while St. Louis fans have a lot to be excited about, he’s only a rookie. He also is playing behind an inexperienced offensive line and doesn’t have a No. 1 receiver to work with. A lot will fall on running back Steven Jackson to carry the offense until Bradford proves that he can handle more reasonability in the passing game.
Line Movement & Updated Odds:
The Rams opened as a 3-point underdog on April 24, then moved to a 3.5-point dog the next day. They became a 4-point underdog on July 27 and then back to +3.5 on August 16. Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com currently have the Rams listed as a 3.5-point dog again. The over/under total for this game is 39 points.
