Vikings vs. Packers Free Pick
The Sunday Night Football matchup this week in the NFL should be a great one, as the Packers host their NFC North rivals, the Vikings. Read on to check out our free pick of this Week 7 bout in the NFL.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Packers 2.5-point favorites over the Vikings in Week 7. The over/under total has is currently 44 points.
Let’s get to our free pick.
After beating the Cowboys last Sunday, Minnesota improved its record to 2-3 on the year. The Vikings have failed to cover in three of their first five games, including in both of their road games this season.
With its loss to Miami last week, Green Bay fell to 3-3 and has now failed to cover in four of its first six games. The Packers are 2-1 at home this year, but just 1-2 against the number at Lambeau Field.
Our Pick:
One team appears to be ready to make a run, one the other is spiraling downward due to injuries. The Vikings are starting to figure things out offensively, which is a problem for the rest of the NFC North. Randy Moss has dramatically upgraded their passing game and although he keeps turning the ball over, Brett Favre is starting to get into a rhythm with his receivers.
The Packers, on the other hand, are one Aaron Rodgers injury away from a losing season. They’ve already lost Nick Barnett, Ryan Grant and possibly even Jermichael Finley for the season, and now Donald Driver is battling an injury as well. They just don’t have the firepower they did coming into the season when they were legit Super Bowl contenders.
Our pick is the Vikings, who are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with the Packers in Green Bay. The road team is also 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two teams, while the underdog is 17-5 ATS in the last 22 games. We like Minnesota to win outright.
