Jaguars to make play for Suh?
JACKSONVILLE, FL (The Spread) – Could the Jaguars make a push for free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh?
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora expects the Jaguars to “make a very strong” play for Suh, who has spent the last five seasons as the face of the Detroit Lions’ front four. Suh is expected to command a $100 million-plus contract in free agency but Jacksonville has cap space and an owner in Shad Khan who has already stated that he wants to open up his wallet.
The Jaguars have also been linked to fellow free agents Suh is expected to command a $100 million-plus contract in free agency but Jacksonville has cap space and an owner in Shad Khan who has already stated that he wants to open up his wallet.
That said, Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said last week that he’s “very optimistic” that his team would be able to re-sign Suh before he hits the open market.
“You have to make a serious financial commitment to him and we’re ready to work that out with him,” said Mayhew.
The Jaguars have the worst odds of the 32 teams to win the 2016 Super Bowl according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv. Jacksonville is a 200/1 long shot to win the NFL title next year and is 100/1 to win the AFC Championship.
