Patriots vs. Rams NFL Week 8 Odds
ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) – The NFL heads to London, England in Week 8 when the Rams “host” the Patriots at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots just got by the Jets 29-26 in overtime last Sunday in Foxboro. Tom Brady completed 26-of-42 passes for 259 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, while Rob Gronkowski caught six passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The game marked the fourth time this season that the Patriots won when they rushed for at least 100 yards as a team. The victory improved New England’s record to 4-3 but the Pats failed to cover as an 11-point favorite and they’re now 4-3 against the spread this season.
ST. LOUIS: The Rams fell 30-20 to the Packers in Week 7 as Sam Bradford completed 21-of-34 passes for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception. St. Louis’ defense had no answer for Aaron Rodgers, who completed 30-of-37 passes for 342 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Jordy Nelson also racked up eight catches for 122 yards with one touchdown, while Randall Cobb added eight receptions for 89 yards and two scores. The loss dropped the Rams’ record to 3-4 overall and for the second time all season, they failed to cover the spread. They’re now 5-2 against the number in 2012.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 7-point favorites over the Rams, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points. The Patriots enter this game with a straight up record of 4-3 and are 4-3 against the spread, while the Rams are 3-4 straight up and 5-2 ATS.
TRENDS: The underdog is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams. The Rams are also 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in Week 8 and 4-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
