Saints vs. Panthers Pick
The New Orleans Saints travel to Charlotte in Week 9 to take on a team that has given it some trouble over the years. The Carolina Panthers host the defending champs at 1:00PM ET this Sunday and for our pick for this NFC South matchup, continuing reading.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Saints a 6.5-point favorite over the Panthers in Week 9. The over/under total for this game is currently 40.5 points.
The Saints are 5-3 straight up this year but are just 3-5 against the spread. They’re 2-1 on the road but failed to cover in two of those three games away from home.
The Panthers are a putrid 1-6 to start the year and have failed to cover in five of their first seven games. They’re 1-3 at home and failed to cover in three of those four games at Bank of America Stadium.
Our Week 9 Free Pick:
The Saints are 0-5 against the spread in their last five games against the Panthers but 6-2 ATS in their last eight trips to Carolina. The road team is also 17-4 against the number in the last 21 meetings between these two teams and after burning bettors for most of the season, we think now is the time to hop on the Saints’ bandwagon. They’re due to explode again, just like they did against Tampa Bay three weeks ago. Carolina is awful and hasn’t shown much urgency under John Fox this year. Again, the Panthers have given New Orleans trouble over the years but the Saints should roll. Our pick is the Saints minus the points.
