Minnesota Vikings Game Notes
Dalvin Cook rushed 22 times for 206 yards and two touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Lions. He added two catches for 46 yards on two targets in the passing game, hanging a total of 252 yards on Detroit. He was steadily picking up 8-10 yards on what seemed like every carry. Cook’s day could have been even bigger, but he was stuffed on a second-and-goal carry from the one-yard line before an Irv Smith one-yard score the next play. Cook’s first touchdown was a five-yard scamper that was initially ruled down at the one. His second busted the game wide open from 70 yards out early in the fourth quarter. Over the last two weeks, Cook has totaled 478 yards and six touchdowns against the Packers and Lions. The NFL’s leading rusher now, Cook has scored in every game this season and gets a road date with the Bears in Week 10.
Chicago Bears Game Notes
Bears head coach Matt Nagy will cede play calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor in Week 10 against the Vikings. Chicago’s offense has been abysmal for most of 2020. The Bears, who have the fifth worst offensive DVOA through Week 9, will give Lazor a shot to spark the offense Monday night against the Vikings. In two seasons as coordinator for the Bengals, Lazor’s offenses were 26th and 29th in yardage and never higher than 17th in scoring. To get this Nick Foles-led offense off the ground will be a Herculean task.
Vikings vs. Bears Over/Under Betting Prediction
The under has cashed in 12 of the last 17 meetings in this series and is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Chicago. The under has also cashed in seven of the Vikings’ last nine appearances on Monday night and is 43-17 in their last 60 games after they scored more than 30 points in their previous game. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in the Bears’ last six games overall, is 5-1 in their last six games when they’re an underdog and has cashed in 12 of their last 15 home games.
MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL TOTAL PREDICTION: UNDER 43.5
