One of Drew Brees’ favorite receiving targets might be in store for a huge Sunday, as Marques Colston and the rest of the New Orleans Saints prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have put together a complete list of prop odds for receiver Marques Colston in the 2010 Super Bowl, including his total amount of receptions and receiving yards.
The former seventh round pick out of Hofstra had another outstanding season, hauling in 70 passes for 1,074 yards and nine touchdowns in 2009. His best outing game in a Week 6 win over the Giants when he caught eight passes for 166 yards and a touchdown, although he did turn in a banner game in a win over the Patriots in Week 12 when he caught four passes for 121 yards and a touchdown.
In the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Cardinals, Colston caught six passes for 83 yards and one touchdown, although he was held in check against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game the following week. He caught just two passes for 22 yards and failed to reach the end zone.
Colston is just as liable as any New Orleans’ offensive player to have a huge game. He led the Saints in receptions, yardage and touchdowns, although Robert Meachem also reached the end zone nine times this season as well. If Brees and the Saints’ offense is firing on all cylinders on Sunday, expect Colston to play a big role.
