The Panthers will be without Christian McCaffrey on Sunday when they host the Lions at 1:00 p.m. ET and could be without starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater as well. Is Carolina still a good bet to cover the field goal as a home favorite?

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Matthew Stafford (thumb) is expected to start in Week 11 against the Panthers. Stafford missed a few reps earlier in the week but reportedly suffered no setbacks in his return to the field and will start Sunday. He’ll do so without Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola, both who were absent from Friday’s practice. The Lions’ offense lacks pop without Golladay, but Stafford is still in a kind enough matchup against Carolina’s secondary to rank as a confident streamer.
Carolina Panthers DFS Notes
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports “there’s optimism about Teddy Bridgewater’s status” for Week 11 against the Lions. Bridgewater went through some drills and his knee “went well”. The Panthers will monitor how his knee responds overnight before giving him a chance to warm up ahead of Sunday’s game. He remains a true game-time decision with P.J. Walker and Will Grier available if he’s forced to watch from the sidelines. Quarterbacks can play through knee sprains, but a one week turnaround is pushing it.

The Lions are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 road games, are 2-7 against the number in their last nine games played in the month of November and they’ve dropped 14 of their last 20 games overall. The Panthers, meanwhile, are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as an underdog, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games coming off a double-digit loss at home and have covered in seven of their last eight games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
