Colts vs. Texans Updated Odds
The 2010 season opens with a bang in the AFC South, as the Houston Texans host Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday. Let’s take a look at this big early-season matchup.
Game Preview:
Not much has changed for the Colts after coming up short in February’s Super Bowl. Peyton Manning is back under center and he still has his full complement of passing options in Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, as well as Anthony Gonzalez, who returns from a season-ending injury. Defensively, the defensive tackle position is a concern but the rest of the D gets a major boost with the return of safety Bob Sanders, assuming of course he can stay healthy.
For the Texans, tight end Owen Daniels returns from injury but it’s unclear at this point how much he’ll be able to contribute. Either way, Andre Johnson remains Matt Schaub’s top target in a passing offense that should be potent once again. Defensively, the Texans have a good young corps, but will be tested in the secondary by Manning and Indy’s outstanding passing game. Houston didn’t play well against other AFC South competition last year and it sunk their playoff hopes. Can they open the season with a win over their top division rival?
