Indianapolis Colts DFS Spin
Jonathan Taylor is averaging 4.5 yards per carry over his past four games compared to 2.7 for Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines. Yards per carry is yards per carry, but it has been clear for weeks now that the run-heavy Colts would benefit from cutting Taylor all the way loose instead of keeping him in the 14-18 touch range. RBs coach Tom Rathman hinted it’s coming. “He’s done everything that he needs to do,” Rathman said. “It’s just about getting experience. The more he gets, the better he’s going to be.” Coming off their bye week, treating Taylor like a true foundation back against the Lions’ sub-par run defense would be an easy adjustment for the Colts to make.
Detroit Lions DFS Spin
Lions RB D’Andre Swift led the team’s backfield in snaps against the Falcons. Swift played 28 snaps, Adrian Peterson played 19 snaps, and Kerryon Johnson — who did not record a touch — was in for 14. Swift rushed nine times for 27 yards and a touchdown, adding four catches for 21 yards. The Lions have slowly but surely moved the rookie into the lead-back role. Swift, whose pass-catching prowess could inoculate him from being phased out of the offense when the Lions are chasing points, should continue to see his role grow. Swift drafters who stayed patient in the season’s first month could be rewarded handsomely.
