Raiders vs. Chiefs Free Pick
Kansas City, MO (The Spread) – The Kansas City Chiefs have already wrapped up first place in the AFC West but coach Todd Haley doesn’t want to rest starters on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. Continue reading for odds, picks and trends on this Week 17 NFL matchup.
According to current NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Chiefs are 3.5-point favorites over the Raiders in Week 17. The over/under total for this game is currently 43.5 points.
The Raiders lost to the Colts last week to drop to 7-8 on the season, but they’re still 8-7 against the spread according to latest NFL trends. They’re 2-5 on the road this year but covered in four of those seven games.
The Chiefs improved to 10-5 with their victory over the Titans and are now 9-6 against the spread this season. They’re a perfect 7-0 at home this year and covered in five of those seven games at Arrowhead.
NFL Week 17 Free Pick:
Haley says that he doesn’t plan to rest his starters and we believe him. The Chiefs need a win to hold off the Colts for the No. 3 seed, so there’s plenty of incentive for them to win. They can also avenge a loss to the Raiders earlier this season in Oakland. Expect Matt Cassel and the rest of the KC starters to play well into the second half and only come out if they have a big lead. It’s probably safe to lay the points with the Chiefs here and go with the better team. Oakland has aspirations of finishing at 8-8 but if the Raiders get behind early, will it really matter to them to fight back? Jason Campbell has been highly inconsistent this year and with how well Kansas City’s defense has played of late, we think he’ll have one of his down games on Sunday. Our pick is the Chiefs –3.5.
