Bucs WR Chris Godwin fractured his index finger and is out for Week 8 against the Giants. Apparently Godwin broke his left index finger making a touchdown grab last week against Vegas. He had surgery to repair the fracture and will miss at least one game. Godwin has played in just four games for the Bucs this season. The team believes he has a shot to play in Week 9, according to The Athletic’s Greg Auman. When Godwin has been out of the lineup, Mike Evans’ has seen his opportunity spike, averaging nine targets, 6.33 receptions, and 89 yards. Evans goes from a flex option to a must-start for Week 8 against the Giants. Antonio Brown is not expected to play for Tampa until Week 9 against the Saints.
New York Giants DFS Spin
Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Bucs. That means Wayne Gallman should inherit the 15-plus touches Freeman has seen in his last three full games played. As with most weeks, it might be smart to avoid all Giants in a game where they are expected to see a very negative script against a top three defense. Still, the running back position is a pit of despair in Week 8 that the secured touches might be more enticing than usual.
Bucs vs. Giants Betting Prediction
The over is a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams and has cashed in four of Tampa Bay’s last four games played in the month of November. The over is also 12-2 in the Bucs’ last 14 conference games, is 16-5 in their last 21 games overall and is 6-2 in their last eight games when favored. On the other side, the over is 5-2 in the Giants’ last seven home games, is 4-1 in their last five games as a home underdog and is 7-1 in their last eight games following an ATS win.
