Jaguars vs. Titans Picks
With Blake Bortles struggling, will the Jaguars and Titans play under the total for bettors on Thursday night this week?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Titans are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Jaguars while the over/under currently sits at 43 points. While the side hasn’t moved off the original number, the total has dropped from 46 points down to 43.
Bortles completed 23-of-43 passes for 246 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Jaguars’ Week 7 loss to the Raiders. His only touchdown came to Julius Thomas deep into the fourth quarter. Despite the quarterback’s struggles this season, coach Gus Bradley said that he “firmly, firmly believes” in Bortles and he’ll remain the Jags’ starting signal-caller. With Chad Henne behind Bortles on Jacksonville’s depth chart, it makes sense for Bradley to throw support behind his starter.
Marcus Mariota, meanwhile, completed 22-of-37 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns while rushing twice for 14 yards in the Titans’ Week 7 loss to the Colts. Mariota struggled with his accuracy and decision making while also losing a game-ending fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Robert Mathis.

OUR PREDICTION: The Jaguars might be losing games but their defense is underrated and should give Mariota fits. Jacksonville is allowing 325.2 yards per game, which ranks ninth in the NFL and is sixth in the league in passing yards allowed at 215.3. The reason why they’re allowing 26.7 points per game is because they’re constantly on the field too long but that shouldn’t be a problem against Tennessee’s popgun offense. The under has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams and should do so again on Thursday night.
