Bengals vs. Raiders Odds
The Cincinnati Bengals face a potential tough test on the road to start the year, as they face the Oakland Raiders at 4:25PM ET on CBS this Sunday.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Bengals are favored to win on the road, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Raiders. The over/under total for the game is currently set at 43.5 points. Oakland has won four of the last six meetings between these two, but the Bengals are 6-2 against the spread in their last 8 against Oakland.
The Bengals were 10-5-1 last season, which was good enough to earn a playoff spot, but Cincinnati lost to Indianapolis in the opening round of the postseason. Cincinnati was 8-8-1 against the spread last season while going 11-6 with the under. Marvin Lewis is coming into his 13th season as head coach of the Bengals. He has reached the playoffs the last four years, but he has been unable to get a postseason win with the team. Andy Dalton threw for 3,398 yards and 19 touchdowns last year with 17 interceptions, so there is a lot of pressure on him to step up. The Bengals found a stud back last year in Jeremy Hill, who rushed for 1,124 yards and nine scores. A.J. Green is also back after catching 69 passes for 1,041 yards and six scores.
The Raiders were 3-13 last season, finishing last in the AFC West. Oakland was 8-8 against the spread last season while going 10-6 with the over. Jack Del Rio is making his debut as head coach of the team this year. He was formerly a coach with the Jaguars where he went 68-71 in nine seasons. Oakland has a promising young quarterback in Derek Carr, who threw for 3,270 yards and 21 touchdowns as a rookie, and the team drafted Amari Cooper in the first round. All signs point to Cooper being a dynamic playmaker for the team. The Raiders are hoping for big things from Latavius Murray, who came on the scene late last year and rushed for 424 yards with two touchdowns. Oakland is hoping he can be their feature back to balance the offense.
