Chicago Bears

The Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus following their 6th straight loss. Thomas Brown was named interim head coach. Chicago has found new ways to lose all season. On Thanksgiving they lost 23-20 to the Lions. After getting shut out in the first half the Bears got going and had a chance to tie the game late. However, poor time management saw the clock expire on a deep pass from Caleb Williams with the Bears taking a timeout home with them. Williams completed 20 passes for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns. The defense allowed 5.9 yards per carry but did have a fumble recovery.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers can’t catch a break. They have lost 3 straight games with the latest being 35-10 to the Bills in a snow game. San Francisco was moving the ball well on the ground with Christian McCaffrey taking 7 carries for 53 yards. He then injured his knee in the middle of the second quarter. He was placed back on the IR, and backup running back Jordan Mason, who found a lot of success in McCaffrey’s absence earlier in the season, joins him on IR with an ankle. Trent Williams and Aaron Banks remain out on the left side of the line, and Nick Bosa has also been ruled out.

The UNDER is 5-0 in Chicago’s last 5 road games

The UNDER is 5-1 in Chicago’s last 6 games

San Francisco is 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games

The UNDER is 3-3 in San Francisco’s last 6 home games

Bears vs. 49ers Prediction:

Take the 49ers laying the 3 points at home in this one. This might sound crazy but I like what I saw from San Francisco against the Bills last Sunday. They were moving the ball well on the ground, finishing with 5.7 yards per carry. Eventually the weather mixed with the injuries mixed with the Josh Allen got the best of them but I think that’s a positive. Chicago is the 4th worst team in the league against the run, allowing 4.9 yards per carry. Isaac Guerendo is no slouch back there. He broke a 76 yarder against the Seahawks, averaged 6.1 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown against the Cowboys, and averaged 4.8 yards and a touchdown last week against the Bills. On top of that the 49ers still have Deebo, Kittle, and Jennings. They need to win this game.

The Bears are a mess. They have had heartbreaking losses all season. Caleb Williams half way through his rookie season has seen his offensive coordinator and head coach get canned. I think this is the game where the 49ers show some life and pick up a big win.

Bears vs. 49ers Prediction: 49ers -3
