Peterson done in Minnesota?
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (The Spread) – It would appear as though the fence between Adrian Peterson and the Vikings will not be mended anytime soon.
Peterson’s agent told USA Today that “we want out of Minnesota” and that he “doesn’t think it’s in the best interests of Peterson to play for the Vikings.” This comes on the heels of a report by Yahoo!’s Charles Robinson that stated Peterson’s agent refused a dinner meeting with Vikings GM Rick Spielman at the NFL owners’ meetings earlier this week.
It now appears that the Vikings have a decision to make. The team has enough cap space to carry Peterson’s $15 million-plus cap hit if they have to, although Spielman may decide to find a trade partner and break ties with the 30-year-old running back altogether. The Cardinals have been mentioned as a potential suitor over the past few weeks but they reportedly don’t want to absorb the high cap hit that required to acquire AP from Minnesota.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Vikings are 50/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl.
