Before placing a wager on today’s Super Bowl, here are some betting trends to consider for the big game. For starters, New England has struggled to cover the number in recent Super Bowl appearances. The Patriots are 0-4 at the betting window in their last four Super Bowl games and just 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 playoff games overall.

On the other side, the Seahawks have been profitable in recent postseason games, covering the number in five of their last seven playoff contests. They failed to cover the 6-point spread against the Packers in the NFC title game this year but did cash at the betting window against the Panthers in the Divisional Round and also as a 1.5-point underdog in last year’s Super Bowl win over the Broncos.

Some other trends to consider for today’s matchup: The Patriots are 1-9 against the spread in their last 10 games on grass but they’re 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games versus a team with a winning record. The Seahawks are also 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games on grass and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up win.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks are 1-point favorites over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX while the over/under total is sitting at 47 points.
