Public bettors still backing Pats
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – With kickoff of the 2015 Super Bowl rapidly approaching, the betting public still sides with the Patriots over the Seahawks.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 1.5-point favorites over the Seahawks while the over/under total for the Super Bowl is sitting at 47.5 points.
Our NFL Public Betting Information page shows that 67% of public bettors currently favor the Patriots in today’s matchup. The line differs from book to book, but the public has favored New England for the Super Bowl ever since the Pats hammered the Colts in the AFC title game.
That said, it’s interesting to note that the public backing for the Patriots has waned in recent days. The number was closer to 77% earlier this week but that number has steadily dropped the closer we get to kickoff. Either way the majority of public bettors will still be backing New England by game time at 6:30PM ET. But the recent public betting movement indicates that Seattle backers have started to emerge.
