Chiefs vs. Dolphins Free Pick
MIAMI, FL (The Spread) – Can the Chiefs avoid a 0-3 starts when they visit the Dolphins today at 4:25PM ET?
KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs gave it hell but wound up losing 24-17 to the Broncos as a 13-point road underdog last week in Denver. The Chiefs had the ball inside the Denver 5-yard line for three straight plays in the waning minutes but couldn’t punch the ball in for the game-tying score. Alex Smith was once again efficient, completing 26-of-42 passes for 255 yards with no interceptions, but he also didn’t throw for a touchdown either. Tight end Travis Kelce had a nice day, catching four passes for 81 yards, which included an acrobatic reception for 24 yards in the second half. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, running back Jamaal Charles suffered a high-ankle sprain in the loss and did not practice earlier this week. He’s expected to play today but Knile Davis, who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries last week versus Denver, could see a significant role again in the offense. Kansas City is now 0-2 on the year and 1-1 against the spread.
MIAMI: One week after shocking the Patriots at home, the Dolphins posted a dud in a 29-10 loss on the road against the Bills as a 1-point road dog. The Miami running game couldn’t get going as Knowshon Moreno was injured after just one carry and Lamar Miller couldn’t carry the load after rushing for 46 yards on 11 carries. Ryan Tannehill did complete 31-of-49 passes for 241 yards with one touchdown but he also threw a pick and the Dolphin defense couldn’t slow down Sammy Watkins, who had eight catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Miami is now 1-1 overall and 1-1 against the spread.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dolphins are 3.5-point favorites over the visiting Chiefs while the total is currently sitting at 42.5 points. Miami opened as 3-point favorites before the line was bet up above the key number while the total opened at 41.5 before also being bet up.
