NFL Week 2 Point Spreads
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The opening odds for Week 2 in the NFL have been released, including the matchup between the Seahawks and Chargers in San Diego.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Ravens opened as 3-point home favorites for their Thursday night matchup with AFC North rival Pittsburgh. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 43.5 points after opening at 44.
On Sunday the Panthers are 3-point favorites over the visiting Lions after opening as just a 1-point favorite, although the injury status of Cam Newton could affect those odds after he didn’t play in Week 1. The Bills also opened as a 1-point favorite over the Dolphins, although the spread is now sitting as a pick’em at most sports books. The Redskins are now a 6-point favorite over the Jaguars after opening as a 7-point home favorite.
Continuing with Sunday’s odds, the Titans are 4-point favorites over the hapless Cowboys, while the Giants are a 2-point home favorite versus the Cardinals in New York. Despite losing to the Dolphins in Week 1, the Patriots are a 3.5-point favorite over the 1-0 Vikings, who crushed the Rams 34-6 in St. Louis last week.
As for the Sunday night game this week, the 49ers are currently a 7-point favorite versus the visiting Bears, who shockingly lost to the Bills in Week 1 despite being favored by a touchdown at home. The Monday night matchup should also be a good one, as the Colts are a 3-point favorite over the Eagles, who had to rally to a 34-17 victory after being shutout in the first half by Jacksonville in Week 1.
