The spread hit a peak of 11 points before dropping to a low of 9.5. It then settled in at 10. The over/under total opened at 46.5 points before dropping steadily all the way to 44 points.
The Patriots are coming off a 37-22 win at Buffalo last week. New England is now averaging 349.2 yards per game on offense while giving up 319.5 yards per game defensively. Tom Brady has thrown for 1,444 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the offense, but the unit is now without Stevan Ridley, who suffered a season-ending knee injury. Linebacker Jerod Mayo also suffered a knee injury that will have him out for the year. The New England defense is being led by Rob Ninkovich, who has 25 tackles and four sacks.
New York is coming off a 31-17 loss to Denver last week. The Jets have now lost five straight and also have lost cornerback Dee Milliner for the season with a torn Achilles. The Jets are averaging just 303.4 yards per game on offense, while the defense is holding opponents to 327.2 yards per game. Geno Smith has thrown for 1,139 yards and six touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. The defense has been led by Muhammad Wilkerson, who has 32 tackles and four sacks.
In terms of Injuries, New England cornerback Brandon Browner (ankle) and linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee) are both questionable. New York linebacker Anwan Barnes (knee) is also questionable.
