INDIANAPOLIS, IN (The Spread) โ€“ There are plenty of scores expected when the Patriots meet the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. Here is a look at the odds to score the first touchdown of the game.

Oddsmakers have New Englandโ€™s Rob Gronkowski as the favorite to score the first TD with odds of 5/1. Other short odds include Hakeem Nicks (7/1), Aaron Hernandez (8/1), Victor Cruz (8/1), and Wes Welker (8/1). Some people may think the quarterbacks have the best chance to score, but the actual player to score the first TD refers to the player that actually carries the ball through the goal line.

Gronkowski has been the steady scoring force for the Patriots this season. He had an amazing 17 touchdown catches during the regular season. In the playoffs he has three touchdowns in two playoff games.

Nicks has been the top receiving target for the Giants in the postseason, picking up 18 catches for 335 yards and four touchdowns. In the regular season, Nicks caught 76 passes for 1,192 yards with 7 TDโ€™s.

Hernandez has been a great scoring option as well for New England. He caught seven touchdown passes during the regular season and also got some sparse carries in the running game. He has one touchdown reception in the playoffs but also continues to get carries in the backfield.

Cruz is an explosive receiver for the Giants. Cruz caught 82 passes for 1,536 yards and 9 TDโ€™s in the regular season. He has 17 catches for 244 yards in the playoffs, but doesnโ€™t have a touchdown.

Wes Welker is the primary receiving target of any of the Patriot wide receivers. He has nine touchdown catches on the season. He has one touchdown catch in the playoffs.
