Chiefs vs. Saints Week 3 Odds

NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Two 0-2 teams that still have hopes of competing for a playoff spot will square off in New Orleans this weekend when the Saints host the Chiefs at 1:00PM ET.

KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs were embarrassed by the Bills last Sunday in a 35-17 loss that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. Matt Cassel threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted once and sacked five times. As a team Kansas City rushed for 150 yards but Jamaal Charles was held to just three yards on six carries. Dwayne Bowe finished with 102 yards on eight receptions and also had two touchdowns, while second-year wideout Jon Baldwin finished with three catches for 62 yards and a long of 26. Kansas City failed to cover as a 3-point underdog and the combined score went over the posted total of 52.

NEW ORLEANS: The Saints’ defense has been nothing short of a disaster the past two weeks. After allowing Robert Griffin III and the Redskins to rack up 38 points in Week 1, New Orleans surrendered 35 points in a 35-27 loss to the Panthers in Week 2. Drew Brees completed 31-of-49 passes for 325 yards with one touchdown but he also threw two interceptions. Pierre Thomas rushed for 110 yards on nine carries while Darren Sproles caught 13 passes for 128 yard and Jimmy Graham caught his second touchdown of the season while also adding seven receptions for 128 yards. The loss dropped the Saints to 0-2 on the year and 0-2 against the spread as they failed to cover as a 3-point road favorite.
