Opening Week 1 NFL Odds
(The Spread) – With the release of the 2012 NFL schedule, oddsmakers have released point spreads for all of the Week 1 games.
The season starts on Wednesday, September 5 when the Cowboys visit the defending Super Bowl champion Giants at 8:30PM ET. As of now, Eli Manning and New York are 3.5-point favorites in that game, but with over five months to go until the season starts, all of these point spreads are obviously subject to change.
The first Sunday Night Football game of the season will feature Peyton Manning in his new surroundings. Manning and the Broncos have opened as 1.5-point favorites over the Steelers, who lost to Denver in the Wild Card round last season. Assuming he’s healthy, this game will be Manning’s first live action since the 2011 NFL playoffs.

The Ravens have opened as 6-point favorites while the Raiders are currently 2-point home underdogs.
Other games of note include the Saints (-6) hosting the Redskins, the Patriots (-5) traveling to Tennessee, and the Packers (-5) hosting the 49ers. To check out all of the opening point spreads for Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season, see below.
