Texans’ running back Arian Foster is the favorite to lead the NFL in rushing yards this season at 9/2, while Ray Rice of the Ravens is 13/2. The Titans’ Chris Johnson and the Jaguars’ Maurice Jones-Drew are 15/2, respectively, while Jamaal Charles (Chiefs), LeSean McCoy (Eagles) and Darren McFadden (Raiders) are 12/1 to lead the league in rushing, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, Marshawn Lynch of the Seahawks and Matt Forte of the Bears are 15/1, respectively, while Adrian Peterson of the Vikings and DeMarco Murray of the Cowboys are 18/1, respectively. Frank Gore (49ers), Michael Turner (Falcons), Ryan Mathews (Chargers), Steven Jackson (Rams) and rookie Trent Richardson (Browns) are all 20/1 to lead the league in rushing yards, respectively.
The long shots to win the 2012 rushing crown are Shonn Greene (Jets)at 25/1, Ahmad Bradshaw (Giants) at 30/1, and Fred Jackson (Bills) at 35/1, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Bengals) at 50/1.
Jones-Drew, who is currently in a contract dispute with the Jaguars, led the league in rushing last season with 1,606 yards. Rice was second with 1,364 yards, Turner was third at 1,340 and McCoy was fourth at 1,309 yards. Foster, meanwhile, rounded out the top 5 with 1,224 rushing yards.
