NFL Playoffs Wild Card Odds

The 2012 postseason begins this Saturday at 4:30PM ET when the Houston Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals at 4:30PM ET. These two teams met during Week 14 of the regular season when the Texans staged a fourth-quarter comeback to beat the Bengals 20-19 in Cincinnati. Houston, which will likely be without quarterback T.J. Yates (separated shoulder), has opened as a 3-point favorite this weekend. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 38 points.
The late game on Saturday also features a rematch from the regular season as the New Orleans Saints will host the Detroit Lions at 8:00PM ET. The Saints beat the Lions 31-17 as a 9-point favorite in Wee 13, and thus finds itself as a 10.5-point favorite this Saturday. Drew Brees has had a record-setting season, as he’s thrown for 5,476 yards and 46 touchdown passes. As everyone expects a high-scoring game this Sunday in New Orleans, oddsmakers have set the total at a whopping 58.5 points.

The early game on Sunday will take place in East Rutherford as the New York Giants host the Atlanta Falcons at 1:00PM ET. The Giants clinched the NFC East on the final day of the regular season by beating the Dallas Cowboys in New York. The Falcons clinched a playoff spot in Week 16 but needed a win over the Buccaneers and a Detroit loss to Green Bay to avoid having to play New Orleans in the opening round. Eli Manning and the Giants have opened as 3-point favorites over Matt Ryan and the Falcons, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48 points.
The final game of “Wild Card Weekend” takes place on Sunday afternoon as Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos host the Pittsburgh Steelers at 4:30PM ET. The Broncos, who backed into the playoffs despite losing their final two games, find themselves as 9-point home underdogs this weekend. The over/under total is currently sitting at 34.5 points.
