Lions vs. Titans Week 3 Odds
NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – While the Lions are looking to bounce back from their loss last week to the 49ers, the Titans are trying to notch their first win of the 2012 season. The two teams will square off in Tennessee at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
DETROIT: One week after struggling offensively in a win over the Rams, the Lions once again stumbled in a 27-19 loss to the 49ers in San Francisco. Matthew Stafford completed 19-0f-32 passes for 230 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Kevin Smith was held to 53 yards on 16 carries (3.3 YPC). Calvin Johnson did rack up 94 yards on eight catches but the Lions couldn’t strike for the big play that became such a big part of their offense in 2011. The loss dropped the Lions to 1-1 on the year and 0-2 against the spread.
TENNESSEE: For the second straight week the Titans were an absolute mess offensively. Chris Johnson rushed for just 17 yards on eight carries while Jake Locker was held to 174 yards passing. Locker also threw one touchdown and one interception while leading Tennessee in rushing with 21 yards on two carries. Kendall Wright caught the team’s lone touchdown pass as the Chargers rolled to a 38-10 win as a 6.5-point favorite. The loss drops Tennessee to 0-2 on the year and 0-2 against the spread after it failed to cover against the Patriots last Sunday at home.
ODDS: According to odds makers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Lions are currently 3.5-point favorites over the Titans, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46.5 points. And of the wagers currently placed on this game, 90% of the betting public currently favors the Lions.
TRENDS: The Lions are 1-6-1 against the spread in their last eight games in Week 3, 0-4-1 against the number in their last five games following an ATS loss and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six road games. They’re also 0-4 against the spread in their last four games overall and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games on grass. The Titans, meanwhile, are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games in September and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
