2012 Hall of Fame Game Cardinals vs. Saints Point Spread Odds & Total

2012 Hall of Fame Game Odds

CANTON, OH (The Spread) – The NFL preseason kicks off tonight when the Cardinals take on the Saints in the 2012 Hall of Fame Game. Kickoff is set for 8:00PM ET.

Oddsmakers have installed the Saints as 3-point favorites over the Cardinals, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 36.5 points. New Orleans opened as a 2.5-point favorite last week when the opening odds were released and while the spread has stayed at that number at some books, it’s jumped to 3 at other places.

The Saints and Cardinals both finished 2-2 in preseason last year but went in different directions once the regular season started. New Orleans finished 13-3 in the regular season to win the NFC South while Arizona went 8-8 to take second place in the NFC West.

This offseason has been rather tumultuous for the Saints. The bounty scandal suspensions wiped out the seasons of head coach Sean Payton and middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma, as well as four weeks for defensive end Will Smith. Carl Nicks also left via free agency although New Orleans was able to sign Ben Grubbs and re-signed receiver Marques Colston.

The Cardinals were rather quiet in free agency but they selected receiver Michael Floyd in the first-round of April’s draft and hope that quarterback Kevin Kolb will bounce back after struggling last year. If running backs Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams can stay healthy, the Cardinals hope to compete in 2012.

The 2011 Hall of Fame Game was cancelled last year between the Bears and the Rams due to the length of the lockout. In 2010, the Cowboys beat the Bengals 16-7 and in 2009 the Titans defeated the Bills, 21-18. In 2008 the Redskins beat the Colts 30-16 in the Hall of Fame Game.
