AFC Championship Game Odds

FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – Despite the outcome of the last playoff meeting between these two teams, the Patriots have been made a touchdown favorite over the Ravens in the 2012 AFC Conference Championship Game at 3:00PM ET today.

BALTIMORE: The Ravens jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter last Sunday against the Texans in the Divisional round, but generated only a field goal in the final three quarters. Baltimore did hold on to a 20-13 victory over Houston, but failed to cover as a 7.5-point favorite. Ray Rice rushed for only 60 yards on 21 carries, while Joe Flacco threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns. The Ravens finished the regular season with a 12-4 record and went 8-7-1 against the spread. The over covered in 10 of their 16 regular season games.

NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots raced out to a 35-7 lead at halftime against the Broncos in the Divisional round last Saturday, then finished Denver off in a 45-10 blowout. Tom Brady threw for 363 yards with six touchdowns while tight end Rob Gronkowski finished with 10 receptions, 145 receiving yards and three scores. New England’s defense, which had been inconsistent throughout the regular season, harassed Tim Tebow throughout the night, sacking him five times while limiting him to just 136 passing yards. The combined score of 55 went over the posted total of 50, while the Patriots easily covered as 10-point favorites.
