2011 Super Bowl XLV Matchup Odds – Packers vs. Steelers Favored

Super Bowl XLV Matchup Odds

(The Spread) – Most causal fans would love to see a Super Bowl XLV matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. And if oddsmakers are correct, that’s the matchup that fans will mostly likely get.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, a Packers-Steelers Super Bowl matchup is currently +130 on the money line. The sports book offers possible Super Bowl XLV matchup odds and a Green Bay-Pittsburgh bout is favored.

The matchup with the next best odds is Packers vs. Jets, which is +250 on the money line. Obviously since the Packers are listed in the top two possible matchups, oddsmakers at this particular book aren’t expecting to see a Chicago Bears upset in the NFC Championship Game this Sunday.

That said, a Bears-Steelers matchup is +275 on the money line, so it’s not like that matchup is far behind the Packers-Jets one in terms of odds. Just like a Green Bay-Pittsburgh title bout, a Bears-Steelers matchup would feature two franchises rich in NFL history.

The long-shot, according to Sportsbook.com, is a Bears vs. Jets matchup, which is going off at +500 on the money line. Even though New York knocked off Indianapolis and New England on the road the past two weeks, oddsmakers and public bettors are reluctant to believe that Mark Sanchez will get the Jets into the Super Bowl.

After the way the Packers dismantled the Falcons last Saturday in Atlanta, it’s no surprise to see that Green Bay is receiving the most attention this week. Aaron Rodgers was outstanding in that game and the Packers’ offense looks highly explosive.
